Intravenous (IV) therapy is a way to introduce nutrients and therapeutic agents directly into the bloodstream. It can be used to correct deficiencies, enhance immune function, increase energy and assist in maintaining health. The benefit of IV therapy over oral nutrition is that nutrients bypass the digestive system, are infused in high concentrations and optimally nourish the body's cells and tissues. Vitamins, minerals, amino acids and other natural agents can be administered in a pleasant relaxing atmosphere while a person reads, listens to music, or rests.
IV therapy is often used to support a person with chronic or severe illness, those undergoing chemotherapy or radiation treatments as well as those with chronic fatigue. Dr. Rojo formulates protocols specific to health challenges (Parkinson's, liver disease) or health goals (detoxification); clients include body builders, tax preparers, students, HIV positive people, those with digestive disorders or those simply wishing to enhance their energy levels.
Prior to beginning medical training, Dr. Lucy Rojo was trained to to perform intravenous therapy as a US Navy hospital corpsman assigned to the emergency room during the Desert Storm conflict. Having worked with Marines, Navy personnel and their families, she effortlessly locates optimal veins and administers therapy with minimal trauma. Dr. Rojo safely administers IV therapeutics directly into a superficial vein, via a PICC line or a chest port.
At Holistic Healing clients can receive intravenous nutrients via a syringe push or larger IV drips (plastic or bag).
